Recent data on the top smartphone brands ranked by the number of shipments shows that Samsung shipped out 62.5 million of its smartphone units in Q2 2022. This is 8.5% more than the total number of phone shipments it made in Q2 2021. It also makes up 21% of the global smartphone shipments market share. In other words, more than one out of five smartphones delivered in Q2 2022 was manufactured by Samsung.
This is part of the company’s goal to grow its market share with the release of more 5G models. It’s hoping to ride on the wave of demand from consumers who are finally ready to replace their old devices as the effects of the pandemic wear off.
